With an experienced party of Cairnton rods who fished it hard in bright conditions we managed to land 8 for the week and connect with several others mostly from the Cottage and Invercannie again on Cascades,  which appears to be the weapon of choice this year so far. With rain in the forecast for next week we should pick away.

The week started off with good water and it continued all week. Fish were about but we only managed to land 4 in the first 3 days. We blanked the rest of the week but this was due to the bright conditions and not the lack of angling effort. The fish that were landed were again on Cascades, all from the Cottage. Keep fingers crossed for next week.

    Cheers Brian

With the river down to 1ft 6in on Monday everything was looking promising and with fish showing in all the pools I was suprised for the party to only get 1. By Tuesday the fish were a bit more settled and we landed 5. Wednesday we got 1, Thursday 7, Friday 3 and Saturday 2. All fish were caught on Cascade and Cascade variants, well spread throughout the beat and all liced. Lets hope these conditions continue.

Week started off with more summer like weather with 2 being landed on Monday, 3 on Tuesday and 3 on Wednesday, then the rain started again and we awakened on Thursday to the river at 5ft and running dirty. By Friday the river had dropped to 2ft 5in with the river running a lot clearer and we got a 15lber from Garden Run and Saturday we got another 2 from Grey Mare. All fish on a Cascade again, size 8. Forcast looks good for next week.

    Cheers Brian.

Another unsettled week with the river sitting at 4ft on Monday and going up to 6ft on Wednesday. Despite all this we managed 10 salmon and 2 sea trout. The biggest salmon being 17 lbs landed on a Cascade, size 8 from Lower Ferrochs. The river dropped back toward the end of the week and Saturday produced 4 fish to 14 lb and 2 sea trout again on Cascades. With the river dropping next week should be good.

    Cheers Brian.

A better week on Cairnton but with last weeks water still high and unsettled we picked away and lost a few which is going to happen anyway! Grey Mare produced 6 fish and 2 sea trout. Mid ferroch's produced 2 fish and a sea trout and outer colonel 1 fish. All fish are sea liced and again Cascade 8's and 10's doing the trick.
We have a regular party of Cairnton rods this coming week so as long as the river behave's we should do ok.

    Cheer's Brian
