This past week was very quiet for us as the 23 degree's and bright sunshine on most day's did not help the fishing condition's but apart from that there didn't appear to be much about which was strange, only the odd fish was seen and a couple hooked and lost so hopefully this coming week it will be a bit more forgiving as we should be in amongst the more productive spring fishing week's on Cairnton and Middle Blackhall. The height was 1ft 2ins today and I did see fish showing in a couple of pools so as long as we get some cloud cover this week and with the regular rods fishing I'm sure we can have have a good week.

We have rod's available over the next few week's so please email Sarah to enquire. sarah@cairntonestate.co.uk.

May got off to a good start for us with the water sitting at 3ft 2ins on the Cairnton gauge. Alex Mudie landed a lovely fish of about 8lb in the Malt Steep from Middle Blackhall side, his first off the beat after a few years of trying, on a 1" Willie Gunn. On Tuesday a fresh 7lb er was landed in the Lower Ferroch on Cairnton side on a 6" Sunray after a couple were lost during the day, then Graeme Reid got a nice fish on Middle Blackhall in Floating Bank on Thursday of about 8lb on a Willie Gunn. Friday was good for some with a couple lost but Ross McDonald landed a cracking fish on Cairnton of about 7lb late in the evening in the Middle Ferroch on a Parkie Shrimp. Saturday was looking really good for a few fish with the air temperature up and the odd one showing in the right places but I was pleased to end with a 5lb fresh fish on Cairnton from the Old Garden on a Red Shrimp pattern, so I was happy with 5 for the week and a few lost . The weather looks fairly settled for this week so as long as the level's don't drop away too much we should be in touch with a few fish.

There is still the opportunity to get your rod in the water over the next few weeks on Cairnton & Middle Blackhall. Check FishDee for availability under Cairnton & Middle Blackhall and email sarah to enquire or book. sarah@cairntonestate.co.uk

This past week was more like the last week in February rather than the last week in April with temperatures dipping below freezing most night's and snow and hail falling most day's but the fishing parties stuck it out with John Webb landing the first of the week on Thursday from the Otterburn on Middle Blackhall bank, a lovely 7lb er on a gold boddied Willie Gunn then on Friday Simon Wilkinson landed his very first salmon in a snow storm, a cracking 15lb er in the Malt Steep on Cairnton bank on a Sunray then followed it up in the afternoon with a 3lb Sea Trout from the Middle Ferroch. It was also great to see such a good hatch of March Brown's each day after all the floods, with Smolts and Trout rising which is really encouraging and shows not everything was washed out after the big spate last Hogmany. This coming week look's good with the weather warming up slightly so we should be lucky enough to land one or two.

We have some rods available on Cairnton & on Middle Blackhall over the next 4 weeks. Check out Fish Dee for the availability under Cairnton & Middle Blackhall and contact Sarah to book or enquire. sarah@cairntonestate.co.uk.

This past week looked really good for us with the river height on Monday sitting at 1ft 9ins and dropping an inch or so each day and although we weren't seeing a lot of fish we did see enough to keep us going but we had to wait until Friday evening for Ross McDonald to save our week when he landed a lovely bright 6lber on a Brown Pig tube in the Grey Mare. Saturday we saw quite a few fish but surprisingly couldn't connect but it was good to see them.

The forecast for the coming week look's like it's getting colder and windier but I am sure this won't put our anglers off.

To book fishing for either Cairnton or Middle Blackhall please contact Sarah. Availability is listed on the FishDee website under Cairnton & Middle Blackhall. email now to book or enquire sarah@cairntonestate.co.uk.

Another good week for us with two being landed and a couple lost after a short time. One from the Lower Ferroch's on Tuesday evening and one from Glisters on Friday for Spanish angler Juan Medina which weiged 10lb and was caught on an old Dee favourite the Ackroyd. This coming week look's pretty good with the forecast quite stable so hopefully we shall get a fish or two.

Just a few days left to take advantage of the Cairnton Sale. Rods available on Cairnton bank for £96 inc VAT instead of £154.80 inc VAT for the 18th to 22nd April 2016. 4 rods available each day. Contact Sarah now to book. Last minute bookings taken. sarah@cairntonestate.co.uk

This past week wasn't too bad with another two fish landed and a couple that fell off after a short time, one 15lb fish on Monday which had been in for a couple of weeks on a size 9 Black and Red Shrimp pattern from Middle Ferroch's and a lovely fish of 8lb for Allan Gowers on Thursday on a Cascade tube, again from the same pool which we have been seeing most fish this week. The forecast looks fairly good for the first half of the coming week and with a few more rods booked we should get one or two.

Quite a good week for us with four fish being landed, two from Cairnton and two from Middle Blackhall and strangely enough all from the Malt Steep and all on Willie Gunn's. On Monday John Webb landed a lovely fish of 7lb although not liced but was very fresh. Wednesday I was very fortunate to land a sea liced 10lb er and Andy Ashcroft did the business again on Thursday landing fish of 7lb and 6lb. Another couple were lost after a short time but I was happy with the week and the way we finished march off and hopefully it continues in April.

We still have rods available until 22nd April at the special rate of £80 per rod per day plus VAT. Email sarah to book now. sarah@cairntonestate.co.uk.
