A much better week for us with 7 being landed, with both banks producing, and again it could have been much more but as we get to this time of year a wee jag of frost would get the water chilling down and get some residents a bit more on the go. I'm still seeing a few fresh ones coming through every day however.
Next week might be a bit harder unless conditions change for a frost or two or a bit of much needed rain again but we hope for a change.
We are full on both banks this coming week however we have rods available on both banks from 13th September through to the end of the season. Prices range from £78.00 to £81.60 per rod per day inc VAT. Please email Sarah to book.

A much better week for us with 6 grilse being landed and all pretty fresh. All were caught on small Ally's and Cascades but again I'm very surprised we didn't do better as we were seeing fish in all the pools but at least we didn't blank.
Next week see's the return of Kim Michelsen's party, aka the Blue Charm party, so going on previous years catches, but not to be to presumptuous, we should get a few.

This past week was amazingly quiet for us and although there were fish about, and certainly not for lack of effort from our rods we got our first blank of the season but we've done very well so far so no complaints and as we all know fish are fickle beasties.
Hopefully next week improves.

A good start to our week with 3 Grilse and a Sea Trout landed on Monday. We had a visit from Deeside legend Doug Murray who is a retired ghillie from Birse and has seen many fish landed but he also plays the mouth organ and he gave a wee tune called "The muckin o geordies byre" which was great and fairly entertained the fishers.
The rest of the week was pretty quiet with the odd one lost but there were Grilse landed on the last three days of the week.
Another wee lift in water would be nice for the coming week but we should add a few to the numbers I would think.
We have rods available across both banks over the next few weeks so please contact Sarah to book.

Last week was fairly good with 7 grilse, all in great nick and it was Cairnton bank that produced the majority of the goods compared to last week. Fishing is funny at this time of year with water up and down but at least a fish or two for the books.
Next week looks good with the forecast they are predicting so keep fingers crossed .
We have rods available on both banks on various days over the next few weeks from £62.40 per rod inc VAT so please contact Sarah to book.

This past week saw all of our fish caught off the Middle Blackhall side. 1 salmon and 10 grilse were caught from Garden Run and The Cottage. All were caught on Executioners and Cascades size 10's and 12's. It is certainly quite unusual for the Cairnton bank not to have produced but I was happy that Middle Backhall was the star.
This coming week prospects are good with good river height and stable conditions so I am sure that we will pick away at a few more.
We have rods available all week on Middle Blackhall so please contact Sarah to book. £62.40 per rod inc VAT.

Last week was quite mixed with 2 Salmon, 6 Grilse and 1 Sea Trout but with the way conditions were on the first two day's I'm surprised we got anything as the temperatures were hitting the mid 20s and water temperature was creeping up daily but by Wednesday normal play had resumed with over head conditions being more favourable for the rest of the week.
One very noteable catch this week was Michael Thompson on Monday, in the heat of the day he landed his first fish after over 50 years of trying, so it shows its never to late. Pretty much everything were caught on small Executioners and Crathies.
We have had a small lift of water today so hopefully its enough to ginger things up a bit more for the coming week but a good 48hrs of rain would be better but it won't happen this week.
We have rods available across both banks over the next 5 weeks from £62.40 per day inc VAT so please contact Sarah to book.
