This was a disappointing week due to frustrating winds & a rise in water through the tail end of the week. We ended up with 20 kelts from both banks.

I invited the marketing manager of LTS Mark Paterson down for a cast on Friday & Saturday as we had a spare rod.

Ken Reid & Gary Scott fished the beat hard and managed a kelt each, landed in Middle & Upper Ferroch. 

I was delighted to meet  the ghillie from Balmoral, David Fernie, who was fishing with us on Saturday. David lost a fish in Middle Ferroch & had a few more pulls. He was using a floating line with a fast sink tip. 

Andy Ashcroft & Grahame Reid fished Middle Blackhall & Cairnton for the week &

managed a few kelts out of malt steep and middle & lower Ferroch. 

Here’s hoping this little rise will pull fish in from below.

This was a challenging week due to weather conditions. The first part of the week was spent breaking ice along the banks of the beat. 

The weather changed by Wednesday and the ice started to melt so we managed to get fishing.  

Andy Ashcroft , Grahame Reid & my self landed a few kelts. In Malt steep, Middle & Lower Ferroch, using a variety of different sick tips. 

Friday later afternoon the River started to rise.  On Saturday it was 4ft +  & carrying some colour. 

It looks promising for next week. We have rods  available on both banks

There has been a change in the weather, slightly higher temperatures and rain have got rid of the ice and raised the water level. Condition's look more favourable over the next week for the angler. (this photo was taken during Friday before rise overnight)

Throw back picture to February last year. It won't be long until we get conditions like this again. Keep an eye on the forecast, we can take last minute bookings. Just contact Sarah and she can take card payments over the phone if booking within 7 days of your requested day.
