The first few days of the week saw another heatwave return with daytime temperatures in the high 70s with an uncomfortable humid feel which came to an end on Thursday with a lot of isolated thunder & lightning downpours and some localised flooding which led to a fairly coloured river on Friday for most of the day but clearing by late afternoon, then it was back to sunshine on Saturday.  Over the week we were lucky to land 2 salmon and 3 grilse with Mark Blair landing two around 9lb . Flies that were doing the trick were tiny crathies and small hitched tubes. Water heights were 1" to 3" and water temperatures were 59/65 Fahrenheit.
