Another very hot and dry week with a couple of frosts although we did have some rain on Friday night and some heavy downpours on Saturday which was enough to dampen the pollen and dust down a bit but it brought a very humid and uncomfortable air with it.  I also can't remember seeing the riverbanks looking burnt and lack of growth on them especially before any strimming has been done but there is rain forecast most days next week so things will quickly green up again.

It was another hard week for the fishing but full marks to the Goodchilds who certainly put in the hours, early and late and although an odd sea trout was seen earlier in the week the salmon were pretty quiet and I thought we were heading for a blank week but George Goodchild saved our bacon with a fresh 3lb sea trout on Saturday morning from Invercannie and a good double figure fish was seen there also. Water heights for the week were minus 1.5" on Monday and by Saturday minus 2". Water temperatures were a favourable 54/59 Fahrenheit so no problems with that, we just need rain and lots of it.

    Cheers Brian

    A very hot week
