Another week of blistering hot conditions throughout the day and certainly chillier nights with unseen weather conditions for so long and for the time of year. Levels are very slowly dropping away with this week starting off on Monday at 1" and by Saturday evening  minus 1". Water temperatures were 55/57 Fahrenheit. Interestingly I was reading AHE Woods Cairnton records from 100 years ago and an odd year is mentioned to be very similar or worse than our recent drought - so it appears it’s all happened before!

On to the fishing which wasn't easy with the cold air temperatures early morning and late evening. Northerly breeze etc we did manage a chunky 3lb sea trout for Ian Anderson in Potters on a small a silver Stoat. Great effort. We were starting to see a few sea trout about the beat the latter half of the week.

Looking at the forecast for the week we are meant to be getting some rain Fri/Sat .

If you are thinking ahead to having a cast please check our availability on our website and then get in contact with Sarah directly to book. www.cairnton.co.uk
