This week we had some lovely weather with sunshine and early morning frosts and a gradually dropping river. Saturday saw a bit of light rain but that easterly breeze has been around all week and isn't compatible with good fishing although we did manage a couple of fish with Andy Ashcroft landing a liced 6lb er in Cairnton on Wednesday, on a GWG. We also saw the return of Knut Bjornsen and his party from Norway who are all extremely competent fishers and always enjoy whether the fishing is productive or dour and although there were fish about it was some of the latter but Skjalg Lund managed it again with a lovely 10lb er from Glister on Saturday, on a Monkey pattern . Levels were 1' 2" on Monday, down to 7" on Friday but we did get a 3" rise on Saturday. Water temperatures were 37f to 43f.
There is a bit of rain in the forecast and hopefully it's enough to give the river a needed rise.
As always if you would like to pay us a fishing visit please contact Sarah directly to book sarah@cairntonestate.co.uk, availability listed on our website www.cairnton.co.uk
