We paid for the lovely weather the week before with this week starting off with a bitterly cold northerly wind, wintery showers and air temperatures way colder than the water which is not a a good combination and that was the pattern until Friday. On Saturday it was a return from a south westerly direction which is always more favourable for the fishing.  Although we blanked this week we did see an odd clean fish going through. There is still a kelt or two about but even they weren't very keen with the conditions we had. Water temperatures were between 37/45 Fahrenheit.  Water heights were 1' to 1' 3" and gin clear.  A few Grey wagtails have made an appearance this week and even the bitterly cold didn't stop an odd March brown hatching.

    Cheers Brian
