The rise in water last weekend and a wind swing into a south westerly direction certainly did the trick for us this week although Monday was a bit of a wash out but on Tuesday it came good with 3 fish to 14lb landed. 2 for John Webb & 1 for George Lyon. Wednesday we had an 8lber. Thursday we had 2 fish to 9lb for Swedish visitor Kent Harkansson. Friday we had 3 fish to 12lb. Ian Ogden 1, Andy Ashcroft 1 and John Webb 1, then on Saturday long serving Cairnton/Middle Blackhall rod Giles Field had a 7lb er. Fish were spread throughout the beat with a few being liced and a couple of fish were lost at the net. Flies that doing the trick were the Gold Willie Gunn, Cascades and Banana patterns. Also there were some lovely well mended kelts still being landed which again is very encouraging and optimistic.
If you fancy a cast this season please get in touch and we will see what we can offer.
Cheers Brian
