This past week saw the return of Kim Michelsen's party from Denmark and it is now over 20 years that they have fished on Cairnton. Their weapon of choice, in keeping with Cairnton's history, is always the Blue Charm fly. This visit they accounted for 1 salmon,  5 grilse and 1 sea trout. Fishing conditions were pretty good but the fish we had been seeing the previous week had moved on with the rise from last weekend and it was a struggle with 3 and a sea trout for the first 5 days but a small rise on Saturday seemed to ginger a few up with 3 landed and another couple lost. This coming week looks to be a mix of sun and rain for the first half then dry for the last half of the week with westerly winds then swinging into a more northerly direction as the week goes on.
