It was a good start to the week for us with two liced fish on Monday, one of 10lb for Andy Ashcroft & a 9lb er for John Webb, both of them coming from the Malt Steep and both on Gold bodied Willie Gunns. Wednesday was our next successful day with another two landed, one on a Cascade from the Malt Steep and the other from Garden Run on a Sunray, both about 8lb. We did see fish each day and had a hold of another couple but they weren't hanging around by the looks of things. We had some rain and drizzle but not enough to affect water levels by much which dropped a very little as the week went on. There have been some fairly good hatches of March Browns and Dark Olives each day wakening up the salmon parr and trout which is good to see.

The coming week looks fairly unsettled with rain this evening into tomorrow and Tuesday then turning more showery for the rest of the week with windy conditions the first half half then easing off from midweek on.

As always check our website for the latest availability and then get in contact with Sarah to book. sarah@cairntonestate.co.uk

    Cheers Brian

    A nice spring week
