A really cold wintery week compared to what we have had this season so far with a mixture of snow and some lovely sunny days, below freezing air temperatures and water temperatures dropping down to 32 Fahrenheit to give us a the first grue of the year making fishing slightly problematic but not impossible.  Back to the fishing and although all the tickly bits were covered each day it was well known angler Ken Reid who saved our week and managed to get our first fish for March with a lovely 9lb er from the Malt Steep on Friday and was on a Black & yellow skullhead.

Today was much milder with the snow getting a good shift so with any luck will give us a bit of extra water.  It is going to turn colder again from tonight onwards with some snow and northerly winds for the rest of the week.

    Cheers Brian
