The past week started off looking quite promising with an early morning frost and quite a few fish about. Success came on Monday after a few years of trying for Belinda Elliot Dawes who managed to get her first Dee fish, a 5lb grilse in the Cottage. The next fish landed was on Wednesday by Craig Lunn in Upper Ferroch and was also a 5lb grilse. It was then looking like we were going to have a quiet week but Saturday the fish did switch on and 7 were landed, all between 5lb and 10lb. Jon Robb landed his very first salmon, a 5lb grilse in Middle Ferroch with Harry Marshall landing another 2 from the same pool later in the day. The other 4 were split evenly between father and son duo Mark and Lewis Blair with Lewis landing the 10lb er. All fish landed were on Francis patterns.

The week ahead looks to be getting a good bit colder with wind and some heavy scattered showers coming from a Northerly direction.

We have limited availability now until the end of the season so please get booked in as soon as possible to have your last cast before the season finishes on 15th October.

    Cheers Brian

A quiet start but a good finish
