Well we finally got rain and plenty of it with the change that came last weekend and so the river was fairly dirty and unsettled at the start of the week, peaking at over 9ft early on Wednesday but gradually it started to drop as the day went on. It was to be Thursday before we landed anything with 6 landed up to 15lb. Friday a grilse and a sea trout were landed. On Saturday we landed 4 to 14lb and a seatrout. Notable catches were Grahame Reid with 4 fish on Thursday, Graham Lee landing his first Cairnton fish and Gary Craig also landing his first Cairnton fish. Favoured flies this week were Brown Pot Bellied Pigs, Cascades and Allys Shrimps. This coming week is looking pretty good but we do have another band of heavy rain coming through later this evening but once settled should have good conditions for the rest of the week.

We have some availability over the last few weeks of the season so book now for your last cast on the Dee of 2022.

    Cheers Brian
