Quite a changeable week with regards the weather and water compared to the previous few weeks. We had the rain returning at long last which has given us a much needed change in conditions with the river height on Monday at minus 1inch with a few reasonable rises as the week went on and finished at 2ft on Saturday evening. On Middle Blackhall, Martin Thompsons party had a fish of 10lb from Cairnton pool and a 4lb grilse from the same pool, both on Cascades, plus a few others were lost throughout the week. Over on the Cairnton bank it was a similar story for Tim Lawsons party with a fair few lost but Tim did manage a lovely 12lber and a liced 4lb grilse from the Middle Ferroch on his favourite fly, a Conon Cat, tied by his friend Derek Mair.

The coming week should see good fishing with the freshen up of the river along with a bit of a mixture of cloud and sunny spells most days and a few scattered showers.

We are fully booked again this coming week but the following week we have some rods available on Middle Blackhall. You can check all availability for the rest of the season on our website and then book direct with Sarah.
