This was a productive week from new faces on the beat, with 10 salmon, 2 grilse & 4 sea trout.

On Monday I met Alex Buchan & his party who were fishing both banks. The team were staying in the Fishers cottage for the week. My advise was fish deep with t14 & big flies as the water temperature had dropped. I advised to fish the last hr of light.

A good fly at this time of year is a Francnsnaelda on heavy signature tube, sunray shadow. My advice was to get the fly down & tickle the nose’s of the fish. Everyone in the party got on the scoresheet.

Mr B Lewis caught the biggest fish & the most fish for his week with 4 salmon & a seatrout. The biggest being a 16lb cock fish from the south bank at the Cairnton stream using a extra super fast sink tip and a 14mm Francnsnaelda.

Ben Davies caught two cracking fish using a T14 tip junction shrimp & a 2” green sunray shadow  from the Grey mare.

Host Sandy Buchan caught a salmon 13lb from Glisters and a 5lb grilse from Grey mare on a super fast sink tip with a Size 8 orange Ally shrimp and a 2” sunray.

With the season end fast approaching I have fished as much as I can, as we are close to my overall target for the beat. I landed 2 fish for the week at 19.00. The biggest being around the 15lb mark, from the Grey mare using a heavy tip T18 and a big Sunray.

I hope this rise of water pulls a few fish up from the beats below.

    Tight line

    Terry
