This week started off frustrating due the an up steam wind & rise in the  water through the start of the week.

By Thursday the wind died down & the river dropped to 2ft 2inch.

    The beat started fishing well.

The water temperature shot up to 42°f, not what I wanted at this time of year. But news up & down the Dee valley was that a few Sea liced fish were being caught & were on the move.

I fished Wednesday afternoon on Middle Blackhall. I landed a kelt and had a good pull in the hot spots using a floating line with a 7 ips sink tip, with a yellow monkey.

We ended up with 10 kelts from both banks.

Andy Ashcroft got the beat off to a start. By landing a 8lb springer from Middle Blackhall

caught around 11.30am on an inch and a quarter gold Willie Gunn, floater & a 10ft 6 Ips tip.

I seen a few fish heading & tailing  throughout the beat on Saturday but no joy. Fingers crossed for next week.
