Cairnton's History
Introduction
For most of this century Cairnton fishing has been in only two pairs of hands. The legendary A.H.E.Wood was tenant for over 15 years and it was at Cairnton that he developed his greased line theory. After a short interlude he was succeeded by W.N.Mitchell who owned the estate for almost 50 years until his death in 1996. During his ownership the fishing was largely reserved for his guests.
