At last we have got rid of the grue, yippee. At the start of the week I spent a lot of time breaking ice, one day I had a large piece ready to push away before lunch, I gave it a push, but unfortunately the fisher hadn’t lifted his line quick enough, the hook was anchored, he had to run down the Mid Ferroch rather fast in deep snow, he lost his fly luckily his leader broke, his nickname now is Eddie the Iceberg. The two salmon we caught were in the Mid Ferroch by the same fisher from Norway. His first salmon on the fly, the line got snagged on one of our cleeks, he managed to wade out and free it, fortunately the river was low. He said the water was lapping the top of his waders. He has caught a lot on the worm in Norway, he might be converted, with a bit of help from his friends, well done Kjetil. Oyster catchers back today, hope that's a sign of spring. | ||
